Amplifier details
The amplifiers both type 2A are mounted in two seperate racks, one containing the power supplies the other the power amplifiers. The power supplies have a terminal strip on each one and the power amplifier rack has a terminal strip that each amplifier is wired to. Jumper cables wire from rack to rack. (I have all of the cables which were removed when the amplifiers were de-comissioned, plus the circuits.
These amplifiers were removed from service 40 years ago, and the documentation and components look like they were manufactured in 1947 (60 years ago). It is my opinion that for the age these are in remarkable condition. they have not been fiddled with, powered up, modified, or changed in any way, these are in original condition as I purchased them. I have cleaned most surface grime from the chassis with a cloth and CRC cleaner.
Both amplifiers come with all valve stock (and a few spares), some minor work does need to be done to put them into operational condition. they are ideal as a full restoration project but realistically all that needs to be done to get them operational is wiring up the jumper leads (the colur schemes were left when the cables were cut at de-installation) replacement of the electrolytics, a few resistors and bolting in place two chokes. All up around a few days work at an easy pace.
